If you’re traveling in Busan with a rental car, the first place I recommend visiting is Oryukdo Skywalk.
This coastal viewpoint is accessible mainly for travelers with a car, and it offers one of the most stunning ocean views in Busan, connected to a beautiful cliffside walking trail.
Oryukdo Skywalk is a glass walkway built along a coastal cliff, and even the road leading up to the entrance opens up to a fully unobstructed ocean view. Simply enter “Oryukdo Skywalk” into your navigation app and follow the road toward Yongho Bay. Large signs appear at the end of the road, making it very easy even for first-time visitors.

Parking & Access
There is a dedicated parking area at Oryukdo Sunrise Park, which is the closest spot to the skywalk.
From the parking lot, it’s about a 5-minute walk, with a slight uphill slope.
Parking is usually available on weekdays, but weekends and peak seasons often reach full capacity, so arriving early is recommended.
Entering the Skywalk
At the entrance, all visitors are asked to wear protective shoe covers to prevent scratches on the glass floor.
Kids usually find this part amusing, and even foreign visitors follow along without any difficulty.
Once you step onto the skywalk, the glass floor reveals the waves crashing beneath your feet.
It feels almost like you’re floating above the ocean.
I felt a little nervous at first, but my kids walked right across without hesitation—one of those funny family moments you remember later.
Admission is free, making it an easy and enjoyable stop during your trip.
Photo Spots
Oryukdo Skywalk is one of those places where the real view is even better than the photos.
Here are the best angles that most travelers love:
- A shot looking straight down through the glass panels
- A wide shot capturing the full horizon
- The silhouette of Oryukdo Island on the left side of the viewpoint
- A warm, golden-light scene during late afternoon before sunset
The scenery looks different depending on the weather—
turquoise water on sunny days, soft gray tones on cloudy days,
and dramatic splashes of white foam on windy days.
Each version has its own beauty.
A Brief History of Oryukdo
Oryukdo is designated as Natural Monument No. 24 in Korea.
The name comes from the way the islands appear—sometimes five, sometimes six—depending on the tide and viewpoint.
Historically, Oryukdo served as a navigational reference for ships and a strategic observation point during the Japanese occupation.
Knowing this background makes the view feel even more meaningful when you’re standing on the skywalk.
Coastal Walk Nearby
If you have extra time, don’t leave right away.
There’s a scenic coastal walkway beside the skywalk where you can enjoy the sound of waves and the open horizon.
For me, the gentle rhythm of the waves felt like half the experience.
Why It’s Great for Families
- Kids love the glass-floor experience
- The view is easy to enjoy without long walking distances
- Perfect for quick stops during a road trip
- Photo spots everywhere
- Ideal for travelers who rented a car in Busan
A Small Personal Moment
My kids leaned over the glass to look at the ocean below and said, “Mom, we’re walking on the sea!”
That little moment made the visit feel even more special—one of those small family memories that stay with you long after the trip.
