Hi, I’m Iyla.
I’m a Korean mom of two — born and raised in Korea, now raising my own kids in Seoul. Before they turned 10, we traveled somewhere in Korea once or twice a month. Now that they’re teenagers, we don’t travel quite as often, but we still explore new places together whenever we can.
Life can be learned from books, but I believe there’s something more important: seeing things with your own eyes, remembering the scent of nature, and stepping outside familiar routines to experience something new.
That’s what this blog is about. Great Morning, Happy Night is a family travel guide to Korea — Seoul, Busan, Gyeongju and beyond — written by a local mom. Every theme park, hotel, kids café, and rainy-day spot on this blog is a place my own family has actually visited. I share what worked, what didn’t, and the small local details you won’t find in guidebooks.
