Making Beeswax Tablets in Seoul: A Handcraft Workshop Near Gwanghwamun

A Slow Friday Afternoon with My Daughter

A Friday afternoon date with my daughter began at a cozy handcraft workshop just as her school day ended. We didn’t plan anything big, just a slow moment to make something beautiful together.

Today’s project was crafting beeswax tablets using natural wax made by honeybees. Perfumes and diffusers often contain chemical ingredients, and while they are lovely, I hesitate to use them too often, especially in a child’s room. So we decided to make our own natural wax tablets using pure essential oils and materials from nature.

We decorated them with dried flowers, tiny pinecones, and little botanical pieces we loved. Watching my daughter choose her scents and gently place each flower felt like the sweetest part of the afternoon, a quiet kind of happiness. With natural beeswax and soft plant-based oils, these little tablets feel safe and comforting enough to place anywhere in our home, even in her room. Seeing the final pieces, each one uniquely shaped and decorated, made the time feel even more special.

A Handcraft Workshop Near Gwanghwamun

If you are traveling in Seoul, this handcraft workshop is conveniently located near Gyeongbokgung Station, close to Gyeongbokgung Palace and Gwanghwamun Square. Many travelers spend the morning exploring the palace and then walk over for a relaxing craft session afterward.

The workshop offers various scent-related experiences, including beeswax crafts and perfume making. The entire session takes about one and a half to two hours.

A Meaningful Experience for Families

It turned out to be a truly special experience to share with my daughter. Not only did we make beeswax tablets, but she also had the chance to create her very own perfume with the scents she loves. Children enjoy choosing their favorite notes, and adults find the whole process calm and memorable.

It is a lovely experience to add to any Seoul itinerary, especially if you are looking for something hands-on, family-friendly, and uniquely Korean. Moments like this remind me how precious it is to slow down, sit side by side, and turn a simple afternoon into a warm memory.
